Want to learn how to write engaging, compelling copy that actually delivers results? From a world-class, successful copywriter? And in a format that’s built around you, not around boring, one-size-fits-all course material?
I can help…
Copywriting workshop – for corporate copywriting and marketing teams
Standard, online copywriting courses can be good, but there’s no substitute for a face-to-face, tailored workshop.
In my workshop, I won’t plod through boring, one-size-fits-all course materials. Instead I put you in control. Tell me what you want critiqued, what you want rewritten, and what problems you need help with. You can ask what you want to ask, and learn what you need to learn.
Whether it’s a Copywriting 101 course for your marketing team, or an Advanced Copywriting course for your in-house copywriters, this is the copywriting course to choose.
A fresh approach to copywriting training
Here are 6 ways it’s different from a normal copywriting course:
- Tailored advice – Ask all your questions and tell me exactly what you need to learn.
- Collaborative rewriting – Watch me rewrite your copy on the spot, or join in and help.
- Copy critiques – Get expert feedback on existing copy.
- Practical learning – Improve your skills with subtle hints and tips, as you write.
- Individual coaching – I adapt and improvise. It’s personalised, not one-size-fits-all.
- Small classes – Each workshop has at most 10 people, so you get a lot of attention.
What my students say…
“By the end of the day’s training, I felt like the whole mystery clouding SEO copywriting had been lifted and I was able to apply the techniques I learnt immediately. Glenn was informal yet knowledgeable, addressed everyone’s feedback in a manner that was easy to grasp and tailored the examples for our company’s specific needs.”
“I found Glenn’s copywriting training course very valuable, especially as it was personalised to my needs. While it was well-structured, it was also flexible enough to allow greater focus on weaker areas, and I was able to immediately apply what I had learned – a key benefit!”
“The two-week training brought a very positive impact to our team members. Glenn not only improved the team’s English skills of the team members, but also provided documentation to ensure they adhere to consistent standards. At the same time, he introduced a large number of innovative tools to enhance the team’s collaborative ability and overall effectiveness. Far above our expectations.”
The location – your place or mine!
Your place or mine. Well, not exactly my place. I work from my home – not really the best place for training. So if you don’t have a training room at your office, let me know, and I’ll organise a venue.
About your trainer…
I’ve been a full-time professional writer since 1994. I started Divine Write in 2002, after working as a technical writer in the software industry for 9 years.
I’ve written for over 300 clients, including some of the world’s leading brands. Like IBM, Toyota, Telstra, Virgin, Westpac, Caltex, the Commonwealth Bank and the Australian Government.
I have a Master of Arts (in International Communication) and a Bachelor of Arts (in English Literature & Linguistics).
I’m also the proud dad of 3 young kids and the lucky husband of the world’s best wife.
But the training is all about you
Here’s a bit more detail on some of the key features of your copywriting workshop…
Watch (or help) me rewrite your copy – If you have some particularly important copy you need written, get me to write it while you watch, then take it home with you at the end of the day*. I’ll walk you through what I’m doing, and ask questions to make sure I’m getting the details and tone of voice right. Of course, you can join in, if you like. No need to be shy. Anything from simple wording suggestions to writing entire passages yourself. Indeed, because I’ll be thinking out loud as we write, we’ll usually actively engage you on all sorts of things. It’s a real collaborative effort.
* Usually I only have time to rewrite 1 page per session
Find out exactly what’s wrong with your copy (and how to fix it) – Tell me which pages are under-performing, and I’ll tell you what I think’s wrong with them. And how to fix it. So at the end of the day, you’ll go back to work with a clear understanding of what needs to be done, and the confidence you can do it yourself.
It’s face-to-face – Online has its place, but face-to-face is definitely a richer, more natural experience. And that’s especially important when you’re trying to master an art like copywriting. When you’re face-to-face, you see my body language and I see yours. You pick up on the subtle inflections in my voice, and vice-versa. I can quickly and easily demonstrate things, and you can quickly and easily join in, which makes both far more likely. We can all talk more naturally because the speaker isn’t muted when someone laughs or agrees. There are no echoes, delays, connection dropouts or other technical issues. In other words, we interact how humans were designed to interact. It just works better.
I adapt and improvise until you really get it – Everyone learns differently. And everyone writes differently. So there’s no way a one-size-fits-all course can really hit the spot for you. Yeah, you’d learn some stuff from a standardised course, but you’d only come away feeling underwhelmed. Possibly even inadequate. That’s why I don’t have generic course materials. I design my teaching around you. Sure, I may bring some helpful resources along. But the guts of your learning – the parts that stick with you forever – will come from the things that just happen on the day. The example that really resonates with you. The off-the-cuff rewrite that makes it all clear. The lightbulb moment when I identify a flawed pattern in the way you approach your writing. Coaching is all about us adapting to you, not you adapting to us.
